DEACON JOE “BUSTER” CARTER,  JR. {84} “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day…II Timothy 4:7~8 On Wednesday, March 22, 2017 shortly after midnight DEACON JOE “BUSTER” CARTER, JR. transitioned in his beloved home. God in his infinite wisdom called his son and our loved one home from labor unto eternal rest. He was born on November 21, 1932 in the Pine Island Community of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was the fourth {4th} child and oldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James “Nolan” {Bell Jones} Carter. He was formally educated in Horry County public schools and was a skilled carpenter for many years. He was very dedicated to his family and to his church. Realizing this day would surely come, “BUSTER” accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. Since that time he has been a very faithful member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. “BUSTER” was united in holy matrimony to his faithful wife of sixty~three {63} years, Sadie Mae Smith. This union was blessed with four {4} children. “BUSTER” spent most of his adult life employed by Phillip’s Dry Cleaners and the Sheraton Hotel for many years. He also did much work as a carpenter building cabinets, porches, decks and shelters for his family and others. “BUSTER” leaves to cherish many sweet and fond memories his spouse, Mrs. Sadie Mae Carter; one {1} daughter, Shirley {Nick} Frappy of Myrtle Beach, SC; three sons, Joe “Stanford” {Willa} Carter, Ronnie {Beverly} Carter and Dale “Robin” {Pearlie} Carter all of Myrtle Beach, SC; six {6} grandchildren and ten {10} great~grandchildren; two {2} brothers, Frank {Daphne} Carter and George {Audrey} Carter both of Baltimore, MD; four {4} sisters, Roberta {James/JC} Sherman of Baltimore, MD, Addie Mae {Buddy} Bellamy, Archiebel {Jimmy} Edge both of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Doris {Benny} Floyd of Myrtle Beach, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Ocean View Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 27, 2017 at St Mary Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC.
