MRS. DORIS “DOT” HARRELL, of Myrtle Beach, SC passed Monday, January 16, 2017. Visitation will be held 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM Monday, January 23, 2017 at Ocean View Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC. 


MR. CHRISTOPHER “SCOTTIE” “WOODY” HOLLOMAN, of Clinton, MD was always full of life and happiness. He answered his call home on Saturday, January 14, 2017. “CHRIS,” who was more affectionately known as “WOODY,” & “SCOTTIE” was the youngest son of the late Johnnie Mae Geathers~Holloman and James E. “Nunch” Holloman. “CHRIS” was the grandson of the late Annie and Alexander Holloman and the late Anne and Walter Geathers, Sr. all of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was preceded in transition by his brother, Alexander Hollman and his parent-in-laws, Lt. Col. Therman T. and Dr. Mary Corprew of Chesapeake, VA. “CHRIS” was baptized at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church as a youth and although he relocated his residency, he still frequented throughout his adulthood. He was an avid fan and proud alumni {Class of 1984} of Myrtle Beach High School. Chris, like his brothers, was a remarkable athlete who played multi~sports for the Myrtle Beach High School Seahawks where he received numerous accolades for his athletic abilities, commitment and dedication. “CHRIS” went on to expand his athletic and academic experiences and received an Associate of General Education Degree at Northwest Mississippi Community College {Senatobia, MS} and later received a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice with a concentration in Sociology and Social Work from Virginia State University. He 
married his college sweetheart, Talya in 1997 and made their home in Clinton, MD. As his professional career advanced, he served as a U.S. Pentagon K-9 Police {Explosive Detection Unit.} Throughout life his love for sports never waivered, he served as a Football, Basketball & Baseball Coach for the Boys & Girls Club of Clinton; also Basketball & Baseball Coach for Joint Base Andrews-Bolling. CHRIS’ most celebrated title was Host of his Annual August Friends & Family gathering held at his home. He worked tirelessly to ensure this event was always the best for his attendees. CHRIS’ family will always remember his vivacious and full of life character who many will never forget. Although Chris loved his friends as family, he leaves behind a family who will cherish his most intimate journey milestones: his devoted and dedicated wife, Mrs. Talya Corprew~Holloman; his children, Miko Venkye Brockington of Myrtle Beach, SC and Israel Scott Holloman of the home and lastly a loving grandson, Isiah Jeremiah Huggins of Myrtle Beach, SC; He also leaves two {2} brothers, James E. “Bo” Holloman of Myrtle Beach, SC and Reggie {Dee Dee} Alston of Upper Marlboro, MD who will surely miss his role as the family regulator; his sister~in~law, Angie Hollman; three {3} aunts, Elizabeth “Dutley” Holloman, Eva Mae Holloman, and Norma Ann Geathers all of Myrtle Beach, SC; three {3} uncles, Thomas “Cat Man”Holloman, Walter James Geathers, Jr. and Eddie Geathers all of Myrtle Beach, SC; two {2} great~aunts, Juanita Holloman of Myrtle Beach, SC and Eva Wilcher of Sandersville, GA; six {6} special nieces, Laquavia, Lakeitha, Shaqueta, Kanisha, Jamisha and Anaya; two {2} special nephews, Malik and Khalil; a mass of other relatives and special friends. CHRIS’ Legacy ~ “He was always the #1 fan for the Underdog!” The family will be receiving friends at the home of an uncle, Walt Geathers 1312 King Street Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. Visitation will be held 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM Friday, January 20, 2017 at Ocean View Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC. 


MR. SAMUEL GOINGS, SR. {79} was born April 16, 1936 to the late Elijah and Annie Goings in Georgetown, SC. He departed this life on Friday, January 13, 2017. His parents, two {2} siblings, Phillip Goings, Annie Weston and one {1} child, Samuel Goings, Jr. preceded him in death. “SAM” graduated from Howard High School where he was a member of the Howard Tigers Football Team. Upon graduating from Howard High School, he moved to Myrtle Beach, SC and began a fifty~two {52} year career in the food service industry. His service was rendered as a chef at Wendy’s, Sloppy Joe’s and Shoney’s. However, “Mr. Sam” is remembered in our community as manager of the Azalea Club, which was located on 10th Avenue, Myrtle Beach, SC. The Azalea Club was a “social spot” for young adults “back in the day.” “Mr. Sam” would always greet them with a huge smile. ” Sam” was an avid sportsman. He loved ALL sports and could often be found in his room or in the den engrosssed in a game. He was raised in Bethel AME Church in Georgetown, SC and later joined Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist in Myrtle Beach, SC where he attended until his health failed. In February 1957, ” Sam” was joined in marriage to Shirlena R. Green. They were blessed with five {5} children. Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Shirlena; his sons,  Eric {Cookie}, Jimmy {Michelle} and Calvin {Jackie}; his daughter, Cheryl {Joe}; daughters~In~law, Marlena Goings and Seival Goings; eleven {11} grandchildren; twenty~one {21} great~grandchildren; four {4} sisters, Mary Francis, Idells Bradford {Henry}, Effie Tucker {Henry} and Mabel Johnson; sister~in~law, Maxine Goings; three {3} brothers, Elijah, Charles {Lizzie} and Jacob {Emily}; brother~in~law, Ed Green, Jr. {Naomi} and a great host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jacob you’re the BEST baby brother in the world!!! Jake took “Sam” to EVERY appointment and never complained. Visitation will be held 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Ocean View Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC.
