MRS. MARY LOUISE SPAIN-HUNT

MRS. MARY LOUISE SPAIN-HUNT, {69}, A precious one is gone but never forgotten, as she will always be remembered for her vibrant smile and large heart.  Mary Louise Spain-Hunt passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Lenox Hill Hospital in NY.  She was born January 22, 1949, in Conway, SC to the late Frank and Louise Spain.

Mary Louise Spain-Hunt was a well-known, feisty woman who went to pursue her goals after she graduated from high school.  She attended Monroe College, in NY, for Accounting and gained employment with Church World Service.  She remained with them for thirty-five {35} years and retired in December 2016.

Mary displayed a wonderful knack for solving problems and she truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; always chatting with friends and family, snacking, and spending time with her nephews and nieces.  Mary had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.
After relocating to NY, she married the love of her life, Mr. Ivory Hunt, on New Year’s Eve. To Ivory, Mary was beyond special.  This union was blessed with one {1} son, Ivory Lamond Hunt {Nicole}, and their union blessed them with two {2} grandchildren, Lashae and Laquan.  Mary loved and cared for two {2} step-daughters whom shall miss her deeply, Ivydean Frazier of NY, which blessed her with five {5} grandchildren, Shaun, Brian {deceased}, Crystal, Thelma, and Spivey and Lena {Kenneth} Hemingway of Bucksville, SC which blessed her with four {4} grandchildren, Shamae, Kenneth Jr. Janecia and Tyrell. Mary was also blessed with one {1} great-grandchild, Londyn.

With hearts filled with grief mourning the loss of Mary are two {2} sisters, Carrie {Christopher} Pitts, Joyce {Carl} Faison and one {1} brother, Frank Junior Spain. Although marital bonds did not remain, Vicky Solomon was a steadfast friend and confidant until the end.  Her youngest brother, Chuckie, is deceased.  The hardness of this loss is also shared by two {2} brothers- in-law, Roland {Keila} of Mt. Vernon, NY, Reaster {Joyce} of Queens, NY and one {1} sister-in-law, Cindy Hunt of Myrtle Beach, SC.

The road of sorrow is filled tears and the sounds of grief from aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends left to grieve the loss of Mary’s presence in their lives. There are too many to name but she knows that you all miss her.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St John Church of God in the Sandridge community.  Viewing will be one {1} hour prior to Funeral Services.  Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel.
