MR. JIMMY {FISH} RUTLEDGE, {63} son of the late Mr. James Rutledge, Sr. and Mrs. Elizabeth Myers Rutledge was born June 24, 1954 in Horry County. He was preceded in death by one {1} brother, James Rutledge, Jr. “FISH” as he was affectionately called by most of his immediate family and very close friends, was a 1974 graduate of Socastee High School. He was known as the most handsome bus driver in Burgess. He could wheel and deal that school bus. He was employed at Hardee’s of Surfside Beach for many years. There was never a dull moment in his life; he was always happy, smiling, laughing and making jokes all of the time. Jimmy was also a great cook and would cook for many. He was loved by us all and he will surely be missed. “JIMMY” was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church in the Burgess Community.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. “JIMMY” departed this life for his heavenly home on Friday, August 11, 2017. He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories two {2} devoted sons, Ryan {Dana} Mazyck and Rubin Mazyck; two {2} grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Omari Mazyck and Layla Mazyck; eight {8} siblings, Isadora {Marion} Knox, Lila Deas, Frances {Monroe} Holmes, Emma Small, Johnny Rutledge, Rone {Deloris} Rutledge, Theron {Janice} Rutledge all of Myrtle Beach, SC and Wanda Jackson of Savannah, GA; three {3} aunts, Sadie Bellamy, Carrie L. Myers and Maude {Herman} Knox; two {2} uncles, Walker {Edyth} Knox and Morris {Rosina} Myers; sis-in-law, Eula Rutledge; former brother-in-law, William Deas and former sister-in-law, Connie Rutledge. He also leaves memories to many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him so dearly. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, August 18, 2017 at Williams Memorial Chapel. No Visitation held. Interment will follow at Heaven’s Gate Cemetery Myrtle Beach, SC. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Homes Williams Memorial Chapel of Myrtle Beach.
