MR. GREGORY ANTHONY GORUM, SR.

MR. GREGORY ANTHONY GORUM, SR., {71} aka “Pee Wee” was born July 18, 1946 in New Orleans, LA to the union of the late John Gorum and Oaile Gorum. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 22, 2018. 

“Pee Wee” was a dedicated Father and Husband. For all those who knew him would say that he was a kind and giving man who proudly loved his New Orleans Saints. 

He faithhfully served in many capacities. First in the United States Air Force frim 1964 – 1984 and retired proudly with full honors. He also entered other career paths and retired from both OS Airlines and the American Basketball Association. 

Preceding  him in death includes his wife, Rita Gorum; his son, Ryan Gorum; one {1} sister, Pamela Wagnier; two {2} brothers, Conrad Gorum and Keith Gorum.

“Pee Wee” leaves behind one {1} daughter, Cherie {Gregory} Lightey; three {3} sons, Wayne {Janet} Tagoe, Gregory Gorum, Jr., and Shawn {Andrea} Gorum; one {1kk} brother,  Dwight Gorum; one {1} sister, Ina Claire Slie; one {1} very special cousin, Alberta Evans; ten {10} grandchildren; sixteen {16} great-grabdchildren and a host of loving relatives and friends. 

Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Ocean View Funeral Home Myrtle Beach Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 6:00 PM Friday, June 29, 2018 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Garden City, SC. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Homes Myrtle Beach Chapel.

  • Tom and Sue Ellen Katancik: We got to know Peewee through basketball officiating and then through BBC. This December will have an empty space…not be the same….We will miss chatting with him and finding him Saints shirts…………..He was a wonderful man.

  • Pee Wee was an “icon” at Myrtle Beach AFB for many years. Working in food service, everybody knew him for humorous personality.
    I will keep the Gorum family in my prayers in their time of sorrow.
