CORPORAL DONEARL VEREEN, JR., {41} was born the son of Donearl Vereen, Sr. and Evangelist Marva Dewitt-Vereen on January 19, 1977 in Conway, SC. He attended Horry County public schools  and graduated from Conway High School. Upon graduation, Donearl enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.

Corporal Vereen received the following decorations, medals, badges, citations and campaign ribbons and education while serving his country: Aircraft Recovery Specialist, National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Marksman Badge, Meritorious Mast, Letter of Appreciation and Good Conduct Medal.

Corporal Vereen rendering service to his country after four {4} years, he was honorably discharged. He returned to Conway, SC and became employed as a Security Guard in Myrtle Beach, SC. He then decided to further his education and attended Electrical Training Technical College in New York City. He also attended Horry-Georgetown Technical College majoring in Physical Therapy Later he relocated to Greenville, SC and attended Greenville Technical College and completed his studies  in Physical Therapy.

Donearl was a fun, loving person who kept those around him full of joy. He counseled the young who came to him for advice with wisdom. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Spivey Dewitt and Mrs. Maggie Dewitt; Mr. William and Minnie Gerald-Vereen; uncles, William “Buck” Vereen, Jr., Dan Otis Vereen, Joseph Miller and an aunt, Sally Vereen-Miller.

Corporal Vereen leaves a legacy of love to his parents, Donearl Vereen, Sr. and Evangelist Marva Dewitt-Vereen; his sons, Tyre Madrid Richards, Devon Marquise Vereen, Donovan Sol Malik Vereen and D’Mari James Vereen; his God-daughter, Dayanah Brown; stepmother, LJoy Tarolli Vereen; sister, Marlena Vache’ Vereen; brother, Quincy Elijah Vereen; aunts,Mary Patterson, Gladys Frazier, Alice Brown, Annie Ruth Grissett, Magdalene Moody, Betty Jean Littleton, Sarah Bell Vereen and Connie Hickman-Vereen; great-aunt, Arthalia Gerald; uncles, JW Dewitt, Joe Dewitt, Alva Dewitt, Johnny Dewitt, James Dewitt, Lee Ernest; special cousins, Wilson Frazier {School Guardian}, Little Johnnie Dewitt {Little Brother}, and Nedra Brown {Little Sister}; special friend, Erica Quick; buddy, T-Tall and a host of sorrowing cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Mason Temple COGIC.  Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, November 19, 2018 at Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Florence National Cemetery with US Marines Honors.  Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel.
