MRS. CARRIE B. SPIVEY

MRS. CARRIE B. SPIVEY, {84} daughter of the late Henry G. Gore and Alberta G. Bellamy was born April 28, 1932 in Myrtle Beach, SC. On Monday, Apil 04, 2016, God saw her getting tired so He wrapped His loving arms around her and whispered “Come with Me.” “CARRIE” attended the Colored School of Myrtle Beach in Horry County. She had many trades and held many occupations as a Registered Nurse, Cook, Caregiver and Childcare. She also worked for The Sun News before retiring after twenty~five {25} years. She was a faithful member of Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She served on Choir #3, Kitchen Committee, Senior Missionary, Order of Eastern Star Oceanside Chapter #163 and Rosebud Tent. Although she was ill for sometime, she never allowed herself to be consumed with self~pity. She enjoyed puzzle books, bingo and crafts. She continued to live each day to the fullest and hold to her faith in God. She was united in Holy Matrimony in 1964 to the late Roosevelt Spivey. She was preceded in death by three {3} children, Louis Bland, Ronetta Bowens and Roosevelt Spivey, Jr.; five {5} siblings, Betty Young, Frank Gore, Leroy Gore, Ivory Gore and Henry Gore. “CARRIE” leaves to cherish her memories, Thelma Williams, Gail Bigelow, Wendell Spvey of Myrtle Beach, SC, Carin {Joseph} Chestnut of Durham, NC, Gene {Myra} Spivey of Richmond, VA, Orvella Estwick of Bronx, NY, Sandra Spivey of Brooklyn, NY, Barbara Spivey of South Boston, VA and Otis Spivey of Richmond, VA; a special granddaughter raised in the home, Kutosha {Steven} Ricks of Elkridge, MD; twenty~four {24} grandchildren; three {3} great~grandchildren; one {1} great~great~grandchild; two {2} sisters, Estella Scott and Mazie {Jerome} Anderson; one {1} daughter~in~law, Beulah Bland; four {4} sisters~in~law, Eleanor Gore, Zelan Gore, Emma Gore and Alberta Ward; three {3} special adopted children, Angela McDuffie, Charletta Green and Kenneth Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thank you to her caregivers, Tuesday Smith and Ceanne Spivey. Visitation will be held 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM Friday, April 08, 2016 at Ocean View Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 09,2016 at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC.
