MR. ANTHONY FUNNYE

MR. ANTHONY FUNNYE , {55} of Myrtle Beach, SC returned to his heavenly home on Monday, June 08, 2015. He was born August 05, 1960 in Georgetown County. He was the son of Zelan Gore and Ned Funnye, Sr. He is the second {2nd} oldest of eleven {11} children. Anthony attended school in Horry County, graduating from Myrtle Beach High School, Class of 1978. He was a dynamic sprinter and all around athlete. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Armed Forces and served as a Master Sergeant. Anthony’s greatest joys included landscaping and carpentry. He could always be found helping around the house and in the yard.Among his many trades and skills, he specialized in exterior painting. He was employed for both B&R Painting and A&I Restoration Companies. In addition, he also held a custodian position for Regency Towers. He was a member of Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he sang on the Mass Choir. You could find him spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on his face. He could turn anyone’s frown into a smile with his light~hearted jokes and carefree spirit. He was a loving and caring person, devoted father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, who always thought of others. Anthony leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Zelan Gore of Myrtle Beach, SC; his father, Ned Funnye, Sr. of Georgetown, SC; a very special friend, Sharon Funnye; four {4} children, Felecia Herriott, Lencia Funnye, Shantell Mitchell and Ashley Funnye all of Conway, SC; ten {10} siblings, Fred Funnye of Charleston, SC, Londretta {Robert} Nesmith of New Haven, CT, Theodore Funnye of Georgetown, SC Ivenna Burroughs of Columbia, SC, Sharay Funnye, Edgar Funnye, Jeremy March Funnye, Ned Funnye, Jr. Rona Baker and Anita Ford all of Georgetown, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Ocean View Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 3:30 PM on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC.
