MOTHER LUDIE MAE STANLEY~GALLOWAY, {85} “To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose” (Ecclesiastics 3:1) Mother Galloway was born on October 17, 1930 in the Homewood section of Conway, SC. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, December 19, 2015. As a child she was characterized as intelligent and full of wisdom. She loved to read, tend her flower garden and discuss the Bible. She attended Whittemore High School and Horry County Public Schools. As she grew into adulthood, she gave her life to Christ and became a member of the St. Paul Baptist Church in the Homewood section of SC. As her faith in Christ grew, so did her service to God. She later joined the True Vine Missionary Baptist where she served in the Missionary Society, the Senior Choir, the Usher Board and as the Finance Secretary. On February 12, 1949, she and Edward Gilbert Galloway fondly known as “Buddy” were joined in holy matrimony. To this union eight {8} wonderful children and forty~seven {47} years of sharing each others joys and pains. She was a wonderful caregiver, as if it came to her by second nature. She was a good teacher and role model. She always taught her girls to be “prim and proper” no matter what the situation. She taught her boys to be loving and compassionate. She loved her grandchildren fiercely and doted on her nieces and nephews. She was very knowledgable and filled with wisdom which she would share with you on any topic. She was loved and she will be missed. She leaves to cherish her memories, four {4} daughters, Mrs. Annie Bell Tyler of Conway, SC, Mrs. Clara Irick of Lanham, MD, Mrs. Dorothy (Marion) Steed of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Ms. Debbie L. Galloway of Crofton, MD; two {2} sons, Mr. Edward Leverne (Ella) Galloway of Conway, SC, and Mr. Elvis (Detra) Galloway of Myrtle Beach, SC; six [6] sisters, Gertrude Stanley, Bertha Parker (William), Geneva Grissett, Azalee Parker, Barbara Gaskins and Mary Green of Conway, SC; one {1} sister-in-law, Thetis Galloway and one {1} brother-in-law Clarence Smalls; twelve {12} grandchildren, Brian, Eddie LaMark and LeWanna Galloway of Detroit, MI, Richard and James Tyler of Chicago, Il, Janelle Irick Bynum of Portland, OR, Justin and Jason Edward Irick of Lanham, MD, Myron Steed of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Sharnequa Steed of Washington, DC, Ashley G. Stewart of Crofton, MD, Renee Chestnut of NC and Candace M. Galloway of Mytle Beach, SC; fifteen {15} great~grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Edward Gilbert Galloway and two {2} sons, Eddie L. Galloway, and Dennis M. Galloway; her parents, Joseph and Mary Stanley, one {1} brother, Mackson Stanley and one {1} sister, Martha Vereen. Visitation will be held 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Ocean View Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, December 24, 2015 at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Service, LLC.
