Sherrie is survived by her husband Ray, her son Josh, of Annapolis, MD, brother Duke, of Leland, NC and sister PJ, of Hawaii.
She is preceded in death by her father Isaac Early Albert and mother Pauline Ruth Albert.
Sherrie was born in December of 1952 in Baltimore, MD and graduated from Kenwood High School. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Department of Anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) in Baltimore. She married Ray, an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration, in 2002 and moved to Chester Gap, VA. There, Sherrie began editing manuscripts for physicians at JHU.
Over the years, the couple built and operated a successful tourist home in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where she hosted friends and guests from across the Country. She was a gifted cook, always at home in the kitchen and ever eager to prepare meals for all. With a love for children,
Sherrie spent several years volunteering for a non-profit pre-school. She will be remembered as a wise and gracious optimist who always saw the best in everyone, encouraging them to discard disappointments and pursue their dreams. Bighearted and sage, she often counseled friends and was passionate about healing the world’s hurts. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association for stroke research.
