MRS. RUTHENIA GRAHAM, {73} daughter of the late Elmo and Mary Sherman, was born on July 16, 1942 in Bucksport, SC. She departed this life on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Charleston, SC. Our Bucksport community is mourning the loss of an extraordinary Christian woman, who selflessly surrendered her entire life to serve God. “Ruth” as her family and friends knew her, was a faithful member of Salem African Methodist Episcopal Church. There, she continued to serve God by being an upstanding Stewardess. She gave her voice to God as a Senior Choir member. She continued to spread the Word of God as a Missionary and Devotional Leader. She was one of the strongest Prayer Warriors that ever lived. However, the church was not her only love. In the fall of 1963, Ruth married the love of her life, Fred Lee Graham. They have been married fifty~two {52} years. Ruth and Fred spent forty~two {42} years of their marriage in New Jersey as God continued to shape her character into a Christ~like~Walk;” walking in love and humility, standing in faith and kneeling down in constant prayer for all humankind. Left to keep Ruth’s “Christ~like~Legacy alive includes her husband, Fred Lee Graham of Bucksport, SC; her first {1st} born daughter, Vanessa Graham of Texas; her baby~girl, Tracey Graham of Myrtle Beach, SC; two {2} grandchildren, Serena and Richard Dyson of Texas; her great~grandson, Calvin Levi Towns; her sisters, Flossie Sherman~Spain {William} of Bucksport, SC, Betty Slater {Everett} of Bucksport, SC, Arnold Lee King {Joseph} of Flordia and Annette Matthews {Rome} of Maryland; one {1} brother, Henry B. Sherman {Leona} of Bucksport, SC; three {3} sisters~in~law; four {4} brothers~in~law and a host of neices, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 28, 2015 at Salem AME Church. Visitation will be held one {1} hour prior to Funeral Services. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Service, LLC.
