MRS. MILDRED CONNER~JORDAN, transcended into eternal rest on Sunday, January 17, 2016 to be with her Lord and reunite with her husband, Charles Henry Jordan of thirty~eight{38} years. Mildred was born to the late James and Arletha Davis~Conner. She was predeceased by her brothers, Allen Conner of Marion, SC, Carl Conner of Raleigh, NC and James E. Conner of Augusta, GA. Mildred leaves to cherish her love of life her brothers, Eugene Conner {Irma} of NJ, Arthur Conner {Earnestine} of NJ, Jule Conner {Barbara} of SC, Harry Conner {Jackie} of Atlanta, GA and Earnest Conner {Brenda} of the home ~ Hwy 41~A Marion, SC; sister~one~law, Gussie B. Conner and Ethel W. Conner; also a host of nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, cousins, and longtime friends. Mildred graduated from Marion High School, Allen University, Post~Graduate Education from Columbia University with a Masters Degree and a Degree from Fairfield University in Financing. After graduating college, she married Charles Henry Jordan and moved to Connecticut. In Connecticut, she pursued a career in financing with People’s United, the sixth {6th} largest Bank in the Country. There she worked as a Mortgage Officer of thirty~three {33} years and retired in 1996 to move to NC and traveled with her husband playing golf, bridge and studying the Bible. Mildred attended First Baptist Church of Stratford, CT and was active on many church auxiliaries in White Rock Baptist Church in Durham, NC. Mildred enjoyed her membership in many civic and social organizations. Current memberships included The Raleigh Chapter of the Links of Durham County Mission Union and Bible Story Foundation of Raleigh, NC. Mildred had many special friends, Geneva Wade Woodbury, Myrtle Jones, Carolyn Dickens, Harriet Lloyd Powell, Mary Fryer, Toni Jordan, Lola Campbell Davis {College Classmate}, Marge Ryan Jenkins of San Francisco, CA {College Classmate}, Brenda Willis Jones of Chapel Hill, NC, Denise Powell Brockington of West Palm Beach, FL {Goddaughter}, Eugene David Conner {Brother and Best Friend}, Pat Smith of AK {Good Friend} and Frances Claybrook of Raleigh, NC {Good Friend}. A Home Going Celebration will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Wise Chapel AME Church in Marion, SC. She is the aunt of Deacon Jimmy Johnson. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC.
