MS. GLORIA ELLA JAMES, {60} of Myrtle Beach, SC passed Thursday, August 05, 2016. She was born February 25, 1956 the daughter of Richard and Magedaline James. Gloria was their pride and joy. She was educated in New York Public Schools. She was gifted academically but most of all she possessed the gift of natural and visual art. She had a radiant smile that brought life to any room. She comprehended the meaning of real love and attempted to share it with any and everyone receptive to the reflection of it. In 1993, she published one of her most beautiful and profound poems “The Buzzard” in the New York Times. She later received a scholarship to attend one of New York’s Finest schools. In 2015, she returned to school for Massage Therapy and graduated top of her class. She was preceded in death by {3} siblings, Isaiah, Peggy and Larry. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Basheba James; two {2} grandchildren, Eric and Evin Worrell; her mother, Magedaline; her father, Richard James {Shirley}; her six {6} sisters, Theresa, Shelia, Ruthena, Marcena, Lula and Michelle; two {2} brothers, Richard Jr. and Kevin and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Ocean View Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Services LLC.
