EVANGELIST ALBERTHA EVANS-CAMPBELL {83} was born in Georgetown, SC on June 30, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Mr. James Evans and Mrs. Oddie Belle Green-Evans.

She was educated in the Georgetown school system and graduated from Howard High School at the age of fifteen {15}.

She was a devoted member of First Calvary Baptist Church.

She met and eventually married Matthew Campbell, Jr. on October 14, 1953. They moved to Myrtle Beach, SC and settled there and raised their family.

After raising her family and working as a domestic, Mr. and Mrs. Campbell became proprietors of their own business, THE FOOD DEPOT.

She moved her membership and became an active member at Shields Chapel Holiness Church and from Shields Chapel, she moved to Mount Zion Holiness Church for many years; but she wanted to return to her first holiness church, Shields Chapel.

Mother Campbell was active as an Evangelist. She taught, preached and traveled to many places delivering the Gospel. One of her favorite places was her business. She was able to provide instructions and teachings for many people in the Southeast region. Particularly at The Food Depot, a multitude of people passed through those doors and had benefit of her religious experience.

Mr. and Mrs. Campbell will be remembered for their events planning, foods prepared and delivery. They were a mainstay in the Myrtle Beach community for many years. They were in operation from 1992 until 2012. They received numerous commendations and recognitions from the City of Myrtle Beach, SC.

Mother Campbell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Matthew; her sons: Benjamin and James Allen; a brother: James Evans, Jr. and sisters: Annie Mae and Ruth.
She leaves to mourn three daughters: Mary Helen Campbell Crawford of Florence, SC, Shirlyn Campbell of Atlanta, GA and Melessa {Jeffrey} C. Roberts of Hopkins, SC; three sons: Matthew {Quannah} Campbell, III of Longs, SC, Elder/Pastor Glenn {Cassandra} Moses Campbell of Myrtle Beach, SC and Christopher {Tara} Campbell of Myrtle Beach, SC; two {2} adopted sons: Walter {Imogene} Merchant of Lakeview, SC and Pastor Ritchie {Elizabeth} King of San Antonio, TX; two {2} sisters: Gloria Jean Evans of Georgetown, SC and Demetria Oddie {Rodney} Kinloch of Georgetown, SC; two {2} brothers: Samuel Evans of Atlanta, GA and Donald {Jerlyn} Evans of Atlanta, GA; one {1} brother-in-law: Julius {Olevia} Campbell of Myrtle Beach, SC; four {4} sisters-in-law: Orneale “Ruth” Neal, Letha Wallace, Geneva Bardwell all of Brooklyn, NY and Patsy Ann Campbell of Charleston, SC. She also leaves to mourn a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren with a network of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM Friday, November 10, 2017 at Ocean View Funeral Home Beach Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Shields Chapel FBH Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home Myrtle Beach Chapel.
