MR. WILLIE J. GILES, of the Bucksport Community in Conway, SC passed Sunday, July 14, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Ocean View Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Jerusalem Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 8080 Port Harrelson Rd, Conway, SC (Bucksport).

Mr. William Giles worked for AVX Corp for thirty (3)0 years before he retired and hung up his toolbox. He joined Jerusalem Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in 2000 where he served diligently as an Usher.  Mr. Giles also was a dedicated member of the one and only Bucksport Men’s Choir for several years.  

William was preceded in death by one (1) Daughter:  Maureen Mishoe; (2) Brothers: Peter Giles, and Isiah I. Giles; (2) Sisters: Margaret Edwards, and Evelyn Giles.

William leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joan Mishoe Giles; children: Kevin (Eugenia) Mishoe of Conway, SC, Michael Anthony (Gwendolyn) Mishoe of Conway, SC, Britnakie Zanie Armour of Raleigh, NC, Deborah Giles of Georgetown, SC, Willie James Giles, Jr. of Jacksonville, NC, Cynthia Giles of New York, Pamela Giles of New York; brothers: Steven (Hermina) Giles of Georgetown, SC, Samuel (Williemae) Giles of Atlanta, GA, Isiah (Betty) Giles of Georgetown, SC, Kenneth (Thomasina) Giles of Georgetown, SC; Sisters, Eva Giles of Stone Mt, GA, Zena Giles of Georgetown, SC, Wilhemina (Kenneth) Lloyd of Atlanta, GA, Anna Bedenbaugh- Alexandria, VA, Ira Drayton of Georgetown, SC.  He is also survived by twenty-eight (28) grandchildren, seventeen (17) great-grandchildren, and one (1) great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in laws, brothers-in-law, and fellow saints and friends.  Willie Giles will be missed dearly.

  • We’re so sorry to hear of the passing of not only a dear family member but also a brother in the Lord. Wille had the characteristics of being straight forward and honest with you, something very rare in this day and time. Thank God for the opportunity to have shared many funny moments with him. Rest in peace my brother, HEAVEN AWAITS.

  • Very sorry to learn of Mr. Giles’ passing. However, we have the promise to be absent from the flesh is to be present with Our Savior, Jesus Christ, and God Our Heavenly Father. Prayers for comfort to Mrs. Giles, family, and friends.
