MR. RODERIQUEZ SCOTT , {29} son of the late Ruby Joyce Scott was born November 25, 1988 in Conway, SC. After the untimely death of his Mother in 2002, Rod as he was affectionately called began living with his Aunt and Uncle Ivey & Sylvia Wolfe. They shared his caregiving along with his Uncle Julius “Bubba” Scott. 

Rod attended the public schools of Horry County and graduated in 2007. He enjoyed socializing with his schoolmates, friends, and family. Despite his disabilities, Rod felt he could do anything anybody else could do. He demonstrated to his church family that you could be an usher in a wheelchair as he was publicly appointed by his Pastor. He always said with confidence that he would one day be a mechanic.

Rod departed this life on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Grand Strand Regional Hospital after an extended illness. 

Rod leaves cherished memories with his brother, Justin {Keyshana} Scott; his sister, Brittany Scott; his aunt, Sylvia Wolfe and uncles, Ivey Wolfe and Julius “Bubba” Scott; four {4} nephews, Jeremiah Walter, John Scott, Jamari Scott and Keyshawn Scott; his cousins, Monique {Kevin} Scott, Marvin {Ashley} Wolfe, Maurice Wolfe, Shameka Scott and Marjhia Scott-Felder; two {2} very special cousins, Taurez Johnson and Zadin Smalls; two {2} aunts, Pam Kelly and Francis Parrish; four {4} great-aunts,  Lou Ellen Scott, Nellie Moore, Angeline McNeil and Alberta Spain; one {1} great-great-aunt, Alma Smith  and a host of  cousins and friends. 

Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, August 02, 2018 at Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel. Funeral Services will be held  12:00 PM {Noon} Friday, August 03, 2018 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel. 



  • Rod was my student at Conway High School. I remember him in the classroom and also the many times I worked with him at home. He enjoyed many activities at school and also expressed his opinion about those he did not enjoy. I will remember his beautiful spirit and smile.
