MR. MARCUS DOUGLAS BARNES, {59} answered the Master call on Thursday, February 21, 2019. He was born to the late Charlie and Mildred Barnes on June 14, 1959 in Marianna, FL. Marcus attended Jackson County Training School and graduated from Marianna High School in 1977. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Navy and was a crew member of the USS Constellation and after his discharge from the United States Navy, he later joined the United States Army where he was sent to Germany.

Marcus being Marcus has held many jobs, gone many places, and never met a stranger. He later moved to Conway, SC with a job crew and decided to make that his new home.

Marcus is survived by a loving family including a wife, Pearlie Barnes of Conway, SC; three {3} sons, Cavese Barnes of Crestview, FL, Kiaire {Natisha} Barnes of Marianna, FL and Ausha {Desiree} Barnes of Panama City, FL; two {2} stepdaughters, Charlena {Maurice} Butler of Conway, SC and Lakeya Sherman of Conway, SC; two {2} sisters, Victoria {George} Watts of East Orange, NJ and Valeria {Alfred} Henderson of Pensacola, FL; three {3} brothers, Wiley {Iona} Barnes of Marianna, FL, Charles {Renae} Barnes of Marianna, FL and Will {Dana} Barnes of Marianna, FL; two {2} aunts, Nettie Barnes of Marianna, FL and Easter Hartsfield of Oviedo, FL; two {2} special cousins, Mable Leonard and Latrell Smith; eight {8} grandchildren; five {5} special friends, Percell, Harvey Bellamy, Jason Lee Richardson, Dennis and Annie M. Cox; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel.  Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:00 PM Monday March 4, 2019 at Florence National Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel.
