MR. JERRY J. MCLAURIN, {76} Reflections ~ “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

A Time to Be Born: Mr. Jerry J. McLaurin was born to the late Deacon Joe and Deaconess Della McLaurin in Marlboro County on the eleventh day of January in the year of our Lord and Savior nineteen hundred and forty.

A Time to Die: His demise was on Monday, April, 18, 2016 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Glenda McLaurin; a brother, Johnny “Bud” McLaurin and a sister, Alice McLaurin.

A Time to Build Up: He was born in Marlboro County, SC. He was
educated in the Horry County Public Schools where he graduated from Whittemore Park High in 1959. He worked for Georgia Pacific for many years until it closed. He was later employed with and retired from NewSouth Lumber Company.

A Time to Render: He surrendered his life to Christ at an early age and became a member of the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. He served on the Usher Board.

A Time to Love: Jerry Junior McLaurin was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His memory will always be cherished by his wife of fifty {50} years, {Doris} Mildred McLaurin; two daughters: Loura McLaurin of the home and Tamara {John} Hannibal of Columbia, SC; one {1} step-daughter, Pastor Dorothy {Pastor Woodrow} Jones of Conway, SC; five {5} granddaughters, Shekella McLaurin of the home, Laurin Hannibal of Columbia, SC, Amy {Corey} Campbell & Tara {Trey} Grace of Conway SC; one {1} grandson, John Hannibal Jr. of Columbia, SC; three {3} great~granddaughters, Tierra Ford, Angel Jones and Ja’Niya Brown; three {3} great~grandsons, Donavon Gibbons, Corey (CJ) Campbell II and Kendric Campbell; two sisters, Mary Colclough of Sumter, SC and Evelyn McLaurin of Mt. Summits, PA; one {1} brother, Joseph McLaurin of VA; two {2} uncles, Willie McLaurin of McColl, SC and Phillip James of Philadelphia, PA; seven {7} aunts, Flossie Breeze of Bennettsville, SC, Ola Bell McLaurin of Laurinburg, NC, Mable James of Philadelphia, PA, Jean James and Francis Brown of Conway, SC; three {3} brothers-in-laws, LD Gowans of Little River, SC, Lenwood {Sandra} Gowans and Aubrey {Sherry} Gowans of Conway, SC; two {2} sisters-in-law, Betty Davis of Conway, SC and Joann {George} Vereen of Galivants Ferry, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Time to Rejoice: His departure has left a void in our family but we will rejoice in knowing that he is at peace and will forever live in our hearts.

Visitation will be held 5:00 ~ 7:00 PM Friday, April 22, 2016 at Mt Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Mt Pisgah Missionary Baptist. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC.
