MR. HENRY TEAL DAVIS, {88} ” I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not tome only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.” II Timothy 4:7-8 MR. HENRY TEAL DAVIS, the only child of the late Henry Davis and the late Lillie Davis was born on June 15, 1929 in Georgetown, SC. He departed his earthly life on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Conway Medical Center. Henry received his secular education in the Georgetown County Public Schools. He was a very industrious individual. Henry worked for a railroad company at an early age and later worked for the Charleston County Sanitation Department for over thirty {30} years, after which he retired. On August 31, 1952, he married the love of his life, the late Virginia Floyd Davis. They shared over sixty {60} years of marital bliss. Although he never had children of his own, he assisted in raising his nieces and nephews, of whom he loved dearly and treated as his very own. Henry was a devoted husband, brother, uncle and friend. He was extremely gracious and always thankful for whatever someone did for him, whether big or small. Although tall and mighty in stature, he was a soft spoken gentle giant in the Lord. Henry had an extraordinary giving heart. He possessed the gift of help. He transported friends and neighbors to and from their destination, no matter the distance and no matter how many times per day. There was nothing that he had that he wouldn’t give to someone in need or want, even if it was his last. Henry served and worshipped God in spirit and in truth. It was an uplifting experience for him to do the “holy dance” when the spirit of the Lord fell upon his heart. While living in Charleston, Henry joined and attended Crusade Deliverance Church. He was ordained a Deacon and faithfully assisted wherever needed. He became a member of Mason Temple Church of God in Christ approximately twelve {12} years ago, after moving to Conway, SC. Henry earnestly supported the ministries and programs of the church while he was able. He was affectionately called “Pops.” He leaves to cherish memories of his life one {1} aunt, Bertha Stevens of Charleston, SC; a step~sister, Geneva Kinlaw of Conway, SC; one sister-in-law, Lucille Floyd of Conway, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great~grandnieces, great~grandnephews, other relatives, friends and church members.
