MR. HAROLD “WISHBONE” CHESTNUT {76} was born in Little River, SC on March 03, 1941 to the late Juius Chestnut and Mary Bessant Chestnut. Harold was the second of ten children.

He was preceded in death by five {5} sisters, Louise, Rosalee, Gertude, Clotis and Clarise, one {1} brother Ulysses, three {3} sons and one {1} granddaughter, Constella Chestnut.  

He attended The Myrtle Beach Colored School in Horry County. He began working full time at Dunes Golf and Beach Club at an early age and  retired as Caddy Master. He met a lot of famous golfers.

In 1971, Harold was united in Holy Matrimony to Evelyn Albertha Smalls and to this union one {1} son was born. He was a devoted husband, loving and always had a consideration for other family members and friends.

Harold had many hobbies, fishing, playing cards and golf. He is known among many of his neighbors for keeping trouble at bay or helping out once trouble comes. If you need something, find him ‘say’ Clyde Washington. We called him Mayor of Racepath and his word was gold! 

Departing this life on February 04, 2018, he leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Mrs. Evelyn Chestnut of forty-six {46} years; four {4} sons, Harold Lewis Jr., Alexander {Tia}, Dennis {Francis} and Harold III ({Tamekia} Chestnut; two {2} daughters, Janice {Eddie} Deaver and UlaLee {Will} Lang; one {1} brother, Roy {Trish} Chestnut; two {2} sisters, Rodell {William} Galloway and Marylin Hines; one {1} aunt, Rosa Lee Owens; three {3} brothers-in-law. and  three {3} sisters-in-law; a very special granddaughter,  Tosha {Tata}: one {1} special grandson, Josiah {aka ‘Cool Dude’}; a very special daughter-in-law, Tamika Chestnut {aka ‘Slim’}; a very special son-in-law, Eddie Deaver whom he loved very much; a few very special friends, Tommy Brittain, Joe Gore and George Gore; twenty-seven {27} grandchildren, sixteen {16} great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 6:00 -0 8:00 PM Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Ocean View Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 2:30 PM Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Shield’s Chapel Fire Baptized Holiness Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home Myrtle Beach Chapel.
