MR. GREGORY BERNETTE McCRAY, {54} “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4

MR. GREGORY BERNETTE McCRAY aka “GREG” the 1st child of Lynn and Joe Ann McCray completed life’s journey triumphantly on Saturday, January 19, 2019. He was born November 13, 1964 in Conway, SC and grew up in Portsmouth, VA.

Greg received his early childhood education at Cavalier Manor and graduated from Norcom Vocational High School in Portsmouth, VA. He pursued a degree of higher education at Norfolk State University. He served his country in the United States Marines and was honorably discharged. At an early age he confessed Christ as his Savior and attended Salem AME Church.
Greg embarked upon many career choices because of the many talents and interests he possessed. However, he didn’t find his passion until he became the caretaker for his grandfather, Willie Sindab. Soon after the death of his grandfather, he became a CNA at Myrtle Beach Manor for seventeen {17} years.

Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents: Willie and Alma Sindab, Roy and Ella Mae McCray.

Greg leaves to cherish his memory a loving daughter, Adrienne {George} Moore; his parents, Lynn & Joe Ann McCray,; his brothers, Eddie {Angelique} Washington, Kevin {Kristie} McCray, and Jermaine McCray; his sister, Lisa {Spencer} Adams and a host of foster brothers and sisters; his precious grandsons, Ayden and Amarii whom he loved spending time with; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and coworkers whom he loved dearly

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 28, 2019 at Salem AME Church.  No Visitation or Viewing will be held.  Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel.
