MR. DENNIS MARVIN GALLOWAY, {49} formerly of Nixonville Community passed Sunday, June 28, 2015 in Washington, DC. He was born on November 25, 1966 to the late Mr. Edward Gilbert Galloway and Mrs. Ludie Mae Stanley~Galloway. Dennis was educated in Horry County Public Schools. He participated in sports including football and baseball. He has been described as one of the greatest athletes in the greater
Conway/Myrtle Beach area – he ran and hit the ball like a pro. At an early age, Dennis joined Truevine Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member of Sunday School and sang on the Youth Choir. He was also an exuberant actor and loved acting in plays and reciting speeches for special programs. He continued his relationship with God as an adult and was known to break into prayer and song when the mood struck him. His favorite spiritual was “Climbing Jacob’s Ladder.” There was also a special place in his heart for dogs. He wanted every puppy to have a good home and worked to find homes for them. He was fun loving and loved life. Dennis had a gift for carpentry. Anything he put his mind to he could make. Dennis designed and built decks. He did many remodeling jobs in Conway and Maryland prior to his illness. Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Edward Galloway and his brother, Eddie Galloway. Dennis leaves to cherish fond memories his mother, Ludie Mae Galloway; a special friend, Flora Mae McDonald; two {2} brothers, Levern {Ella} and Elvis {Detra}; five {5} sisters, Helen Galloway of NY, Annie Tyler of Conway, SC, Clara Irick of Lanham, MD, Debbie Galloway of Crofton, MD and Dorothy Steed {Marion} of Mt. Pleasant, SC; six {6} aunts, Gertrude Stanley, Bertha Parker {William}, Geneva Grissett, Azalee Parker, Barbara Gaskins, and Mary Green; one {1} uncle, Bethea Galloway {Thethis}. His extended family includes one {1} adopted
daughter, Sabrina McDonald; five {5} adopted grandchildren, Marquise McDonald, Tiffany McDonald, Briana Parmley, Pernell “PJ” Parmley, Tory Hudson and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 07, 2015 at Ocean View Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 08, 2015 at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Cremation Service, LLC.
