MR. BENNIE LEE FORD, {70} began his life on February 25, 1948, born of the late Leola H. Ford and Talmadge Ford in Dillon County, SC. He departed this life on Friday, April 13, 2018. He graduated from Palmetto High School in Mullins, SC and continued his education at Shaw University in Raleigh, NC. 

Bennie Lee Ford moved to New York City in 1967 and discovered his love of life and adventure blossomed. He dined with stars, laughed and chatted with presidents. If you knew him, you know how deeply he believed in living life to the fullest. If he had a choice to stand or dance….he danced to life’s song! 

Bennie Lee Ford began his employment adventure on Wall Street working as a Stock Transfer Agent at Lehman Brothers New York. He then moved on to the Dance Theater of Harlem, where he was able to travel extensively in the United States and Europe. He worked briefly as a freelance model and landed a layout in GQ Magazine in 1971. He worked the longest in Photography – his love. He was a Photographer Assistant for many years to well known Literary Photographer, Thomas Victor before returning to his hometown of Nichols, SC. His last place of employment was truly his home Milton Troy, Sr Hall where he was cherished for the sheer joy of living that he bought to all he encountered.

Bennie Lee Ford leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Tracy Ford {Johnnie} of Hyattsville, MD; his sister, Cynthia Davis {Benston} of Richmond, VA; three {3} aunts, Mable Martin of Nichols, SC, Beatrice Young of Philadelphia, PA and Teresa {Grant} Bennett of Orlando, FL; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Milton Troy, Sr. Hall in Mullins, SC. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home of Conway.
