MR. ARTHUR NATHANIEL CARR

MR. ARTHUR NATHANIEL CARR, {89} affectionately known as Shorty and Little Bubba was the son of the late Dave and Miriam Carr, Sr. He was born November 8th, 1929 in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Arthur departed this life on Friday, April 26, 2019. He was united in holy matrimony to the late Eva Mae Johnson-Carr. He was converted at an early age and joined St. James United Methodist Church where he sang on the Senior Choir and was a friend to all. Upon graduating from Whittemore High School, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country until he was honorably discharged. He then started his own business, “Carr’s Tile Company where he worked many years doing what he loved. 

Arthur is preceded in death by one {1} daughter, Brenda Joyce Roberinson; two {2} sisters, Mary Jane Grissett and Esther Rebecca Holmes; three {3} brothers, John Henry Simmons, Dave “June” Carr, Jr and Wilbur A. Carr 

Arthur leaves to cherish his memories three {3} daughters, Mary Eva  {Challis} Purrington of Fuquary Varuna, NC, Valerie Wrighten of Raleigh, NC, LeNora {Michael} McMorris of Knightdale, NCall of Raleigh, NC; two sons, Julius Carr of Philadelphia, PA and Arthur N. Johnson of Myrtle Beach, SC; one {1} sister-in-law, Shirley-Carr of Baltimore, MD; a cousin whom is more like a brother, Elmer {Alton} Holmes of Burgess, SC; thirteen {13} grandchildren, twenty-two {22} great-grandchildren, one {1} great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 01, 2018 St James United Methodist Church in the Burgess Community. Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Ocean View Funeral Home Myrtle Beach Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home Myrtle Beach Chapel.
