MR. ANTHONY J. ELLIS, {68} son of Elijah Goings and the late Dora Lee Goings was born on January 01, 1950 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his residence.

He attended Horry County Public Schools and graduated from Whittemore High School in 1968, where he excelled in athletics and drove the school bus. Immediately following graduation he enlisted in the United Ststes Army. He served two {2} tours in Vietnam between 1969 – 1972, before he was ultimately medically discharged because of injuries. 

After Mr. Ellis shortened military career, he met Inez N. Ellis and they were joined in Holy Wedlock in 1972.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Inez; his father, Elijah Sr; two {2} brothers, Maurice {Debra} Goings and Kenny {Sandy} Goings; one {1} sister, Reneed Goings. His children, Stafford {Elouise} White, Stanley {Terry} White, Thomas White, James “Bull” Canty and Sonya {Mike} Ellis-Burgess; twelve {12} grandchildren; four {4} great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and family members.

Tony was a loving person, who often portrayed his love in a unique special way. He will be missed and always remembered.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, July 09, 2018 at Florence National Cemetery with US Army Military Honors. Viewing will be private.  Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Homes Myrtle Beach Chapel.
