ELDER BETTY OLIVIA LANCE {71} was born on July 22, 1946 to Anna Washington Lance and Ned Lance Sr. in Sandy Island, SC (Georgetown County). She departed this earthly life on Saturday, April 21, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three {3} sisters, one {1} brother, and one {1} grandson. In 1960, she came to Myrtle Beach, SC to live with her sister and brother-in-law, Mikel and Lorena Ford.

Growing up she attended Bethel Baptist Church in Sandy Island, SC. Betty attended and graduated from Whittemore Park High School, Class of 1964. She spent many years in the medical field as a private healthcare worker. She received her CNA License along with her Phlebotomy Certification in the early 90’s.

Elder Betty Olivia Lance was one of the founding members of Truelight Sounds of Praise Fellowship Ministries under Bishop J.D. Means. She became ordained as an Evangelist in 1998. Through her ministries she touched many lives, and was always dominant in her beliefs.

Elder Betty Olivia Lance was a woman of many hats. She was all about family and enjoyed cooking, especially for others. She was a master of decorating, and spent most of her time in the store. She was always involved within the community and helpful to all she knew.

Elder Betty Olivia Lance’s legacy will always live on through her loved ones. She leaves behind loving memories that will always be shared by her loved ones: her brother, Stafford {Mable} Lance of Washington, DC; her sisters, Lucille Mosely, Cleo Jackson, Theresa {Rev. George} Weathers of Sandy Island, SC and Lula {Willie} Jackson ofNew York; her children, Kevin {Ursula} Grant of Myrtle Beach, SC, Garth {Brenda} Grant of Mullins, SC, Tickeisha {William} Walton of Myrtle Beach, SC, Schwaski Grant of Tampa, FL;  Nedria, Trevior, Najae, and special children: Emma Ann, Michelle, David, Jeremiah, Roy{deceased} and Joseph all of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren: Ariel {Antonio} Bellamy, Jyra, Tanisha, Jennifer {David} Rush, Sa’dreona, Jessica, William, Graciona, Deontrae, and Jameer; nine  {9] great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind two {2} very special friends who were with her until the end: Mrs. Evelyn Bellamy and Mrs. Rosalind Wise.

Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, April 27, 2018 at Ocean View Funeral Home Myrtle Beach Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Mt Olive AME Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home Myrtle Beach Chapel.
